ARCH & GUY LAW FIRM

The law offices of Arch and Guy, a firm specializing in adoptive and family law, were looking to expand in the Athens area.  The historic building they choose had previously been a bike shop, furniture retailer, and most recently, the interior design studios for the University of Georgia.  The firm decided to uphold the historic characteristics of the “Classic City” by preserving the exposed brick, trusses, and open wooden rafters of the building.  The design meshed the original architecture with contemporary concepts, implementing an open floor plan.  Breaking away from traditional office plans, open workstations were designed for secretaries and paralegals, encouraging employee collaboration.  In addition, multiple touchdown spaces and lounges were included, allowing the staff and guests to take advantage of the views of the bustling Classic City.  Frosted glass was utilized where privacy was an issue, but still gave the impression of a more naturally lit and open work environment.  The warm color palette implemented through upholstery and wall coverings, reminds clients of the firm of the blissful growing period of adoption.
